The Campus Watch is an educational newspaper published by Press Piece Media, located in the ancient city of Kano-Nigeria.

The Publisher

Salim Umar Ibrahim – An award winning Investigative, humanitarian and development Journalist and a Businessman, an Editor, Writer and a Columnist hold BSc. Computer Science from Ecotes Benin University, Benin Republic, 2016.

He is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of a multimedia content creation company, Press Piece Media and the Managing Director of Open Walls General Enterprises and Executive Secretary, Board of Trustees, Supervisor, Sustainable Approach For Equity (SAFE) Foundation.

A passionate and certified Networking specialist, he is a certified member of the C-Tech Academy, New Jersey, USA, for successfully installing the LEVITON connected home products, Copper-based systems, Fiber optics based systems and Integrated systems voice and messaging.

Salim cut his teeth into the creative industry in 2009 where he authored a novel ‘The End of an Epoch’ an unpublished manuscript and later a short story ‘The Agony of a Widow’ in view. He then has a turn into the journalism profession in 2013 as Reporter with New Republican Newspaper, then, an opinion writer getting published in most daily Nigerian Newspapers such as Daily Trust Newspaper, Leadership Newspaper and majorly Peoples Daily Newspaper. He became the Pioneer Editor-in-Chief of a bilingual Educational Magazine in Cotonou, Benin Republic “Campus Vanguard’ published by Ecotes-Benin University in 2016 before graduating in 2017, He led an editorial team of Corp members in Kano state as Editor-in-Chief and a member of the publicity committee supervising a successful implementation and execution of projects in Kano state. He served as News Assistant and a Presenter at ARTV Kano, Head of News, Presenter and Producer at Fasaha TV and Radio, Public Relations Officer at Sunrise Language Practitioners (SLP) between 2017-2018 after which he became a freelance Reporter with the Peoples Daily Newspaper in Kano, he briefly served with Kano Today now Kano Focus online Newspaper before joining Opera News in 2019 as Editor of its Hausa Team.

He currently work with one of Nigeria’s leading newspapers, Daily Trust as a multimedia journalist working across all platforms in the company which include, the Daily Trust titles, Podcast, Trust TV, Aminiya (Hausa version of Daily Trust) and other digital platforms.

He is the awarded winner of the 2022 Humanitarian Journalist of the year by the Security and Emergency Management Awards (SAEMA) and Spokespersons and Communications Awards (SCA).

Salim, has received many awards nominations in the field of journalism.
