An elder state man of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State, Hon. Zaharaddeen Babba Mazoji has called on the immediate sack of the Ministers of Defence Muhammad Badaru Abubakar and Bello Matawalle, and replace them with Major Hamza Almustapha and Nasir El-Rufa’i.
The one once time Senatorial Aspirant under the PDP umbrella, made the call on Sunday during a press conference.
Mazoji demand the removal of Defense ministers over growing insecurity across Nigeria especially the areas of Matazu and Neighboring communities in Katsina state were the bandits in one weeks entered the area almost three time, killed many people and kidnap many innocent families.
He said the demand to sack of the Minister of Defense Alhaji Badaru Abubakar as well as state Minister Bello Muhammad Matawalle become necessary over the increase of insecurity in major parts Katsina, Zamfara, Kebbi, Niger and Kaduna respectively.
Mazoji said, “We are seriously concerned about the series of attacks in many villages of Matazu and neighboring communities as well as other states in the region, believes that there is negligence’s of Ministers of defense who are all from the northern parts of this country whose suppose to address the problem of insecurity in the North.
“Over the years, parts of the region have been grappling with a series of criminal activities such as kidnapping, bombings, and attacks on communities as a result of insurgency and banditry, and now all the Minister and minister of state whose come from the Northern part of Country were killing and kidnaping is always persistent and those Minister are just busy enjoined leaving in Abuja with their families, living our people in worsening situation of insecurity and other criminals activities.
“There are high standards expectation of a Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, they must be persons of unquestionable character and proven integrity. Unfortunately, the glaring revelations of increase of insecurity especially in Matazu Local Government and Neighboring communities are facing a very deficit and negligence’s by those whose suppose take care of the lives and properties of our dear people.
“Why should President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Political leaders as well all Security Agency’s will allow bandits to continue to engage in series of kidnapping and all sort of criminal and criminalities in our area, are we not Nigerians?”
He noted that, Banditry and other causes of insecurity in northern Nigeria have been allowed to degenerate into a complex national emergency with dire territorial implications.
“As we all know, the primary objective of any state is to provide security for the lives of the people and their property, those so called Ministers of defense are not ready to handle the issue of insecurity in the Northern part of this country, in view of this, we are calling for President Bola Tinubu as matter of urgency to sack those Ministers and replace them with competent people like Nasiru El-Rufa’a and Major Hamza Al-Mustapha whose are very courageous in handling the insecurity matters in Nigeria.”
Babba Mazoji expressed his profound sympathies to all those who have lost their loved ones, property, and those who have been displaced and separated from their family. My heart goes to the women and children who have been forced to live in deplorable conditions of being widows, orphans and displaced as a result of the bandits’ constant onslaught
