A Kano High Court number 11 presided over by Justice Nasiru Saminu has legalised the appointment of Hajiya Tasidi Muhammad and nine others as caretaker committee members of Jam’iyyar Matan Arewa, Kano Chapter.
In his Judgement, Justice Nasiru Saminu averred that the Kano caretaker committee of the Non Governmental Organisation appointed by Rabi Saulawa was legal, lawful and accordance with the constitution, having regards to the circumstances of the case.
Justice Saminu similarly ordered the caretaker committee to conduct a fresh election within 3 months of the judgement.
“The caretaker shall within 3 months of this judgement shall conduct a fresh election to usher in new executive members of Jamiyyar Matan Arewa, Kano State Chapter.”
Earlier, the plaintiff in the suit include, Ummi Tanko Yakasai and six others who approached the court, challenging the legality of Hajiya Rabi Musa Saulawa over the appointment of 3rd to 11th Defendants Caretaker Committee of the Jam’iyyar Matan Arewa, Kano State Chapter.

The caretaker committee includes Hajia Tasidi Muhammad, Comrade Lami Bako Yakasai, Binta Adamu, Maijidda Abubakar, Halima Auwal, Comrade Rabi Sa’idu Gidado, Saratu Abdu Ali, Comrade Rabi Abdullahi and Hauwa Yakubu dogara.
