Prof Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, the Founder and Chairman Governing Council of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger and Nigeria, Franco British International Kaduna, and Canadian University of Nigeria, has donated two million naira towards the latest books, which were timely-published by Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR).
The books titled, Pantami: The Trials and Triumphs of a Digital Economy Maestro, written by Mal. Yushau Shuaib (Editor-in-Chief of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential) and eNaira Revolution: A Peep into Nigeria’s Cashless Future, by Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulraheem (Managing Editor of Economic Confidential), were presented at the maiden Economic and Confidential Public Lecture and Book Presentation held at Nicon Luxury in Abuja.
Dr. Abdullahi Sufi, the Director of Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo Foundation (AAG Foundation), represented Professor Gwarzo, who is a globally known icon in edu-preneurship and philanthropic services.
During the event, Professor Ali Isa Pantami, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, was commended for transforming Nigeria’s digital economy sector, which has become the highest GDP contributor to the country’s economy. Pantami and other experts advocated for a diversified economy for Nigeria, including the establishment of a strong knowledge-based economy through excellent and innovative policies in the digital economy sector.
The public lecture and book presentation event, organized by Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR), who are the publishers of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential, was themed “Economic Diversification in an Evolving Cashless Society”.
Alhaji Mohammed Shehu, the Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), emphasized the need for Nigeria to diversify its economy. He noted that Nigeria is getting most of its money now from taxes, customs, and other non-oil revenue sources, with the NNPC contributing less than 5% of what is shared across the federation.
The book on Pantami’s Trials and Triumphs was reviewed by Malam Jaafar Jaafar, the Publisher of Daily Nigerian who is currently residing in the United Kingdom. Other stakeholders present at the event included staff from the Central Bank of Nigeria, heads of media, academia, politicians, and students.
The Canadian University of Nigeria Abuja and Franco British International-FBI University Kaduna received operational approval, which occurred during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) sitting on 15 May 2023.
