The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD), has donated over 100 books to the erstwhile Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education (SRCOE) now Sa’adatu Rimi University, Kano.
The Senior Programme Specialist, CITAD, Isah Garba while presenting the books to the Varsity representatives on Thursday, said, the gesture is aimed at giving back to the society while the University serves as the right place to be effectively used.
“This has been a tradition of CITAD partnering with academics especially the tertiary institutions. We have been doing this with others for a long time so as to promote the course of reading.”

He added that beside the donation, the centre is committed to training and building capacity of university staff from different departments while partnering with others in areas of knowledge production among other engagements.
On his part, the Secretary to the University Librarian, Mu’az Abubakar Adam thanked CITAD for the gesture, pledged to make judicious use of the books while encouraging the culture of reading among students.

“On behalf of the University management, i wish to extend our profound gratitude to CITAD, thank you.”
